The 82559ER Ethernet Controller consists of a 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Media Access Controller (MAC) and an IEEE 802.3 Physical Layer (PHY) device integrated onto a single chip. The 32-bit PCI device is offered in a space-saving thin BGA package measuring 15mm x 15mm. Intel optimized the 82559ER device for embedded applications. It is based on the industry standard 82559 Fast Ethernet PCI Controller, a third generation LAN component. When you design with the 82559ER Ethernet Controller you can be confident that you selected the most dependable product available.
